ATC Instructor - Welding
Summary
Provides instruction in selected areas of CTAE offered at the Promise Institute to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for a career and post-secondary opportunities
Important Note: All ATC Instructor Teacher Contracts will be end-dated annually.
Essential Duties
• Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state and local curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular experiences
• Provides community-based instruction and projects based on program guidelines and requirements
• Provides leadership opportunities for students by establishing a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), as a co-curricular instructional tool within the classroom
• Manages and maintains program facilities and equipment
• Adheres to all state guidelines required for the implementation of a successful program
• Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area
• Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, school & county leadership
• Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
• Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
• Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
Additional Responsibilities
• Attends school and District-level professional learning activities as directed
• Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
• Seeks and maintains professional learning opportunities through State endorsed professional organizations. i.e., ACTE, GACTE
• Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
• Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction
• Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
***Note that a Master of Education without the 18 credits in Early Childhood Education will not work. A teaching certificate also will not work.

Certification/Licensure
Experience Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications are by content area and based on Atlanta Technical College (ATC) Criteria. Content areas: Welding, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Logistics, Design & Media, Early Childhood Care and Education.
Welding
Minimum: AWS or NCCER certification
Preferred: Diploma in Welding with AWS or NCCER certification.
Computer Networking
Minimum: 18 graduate credit hours in computer networking (with no masters) OR master’s in computer related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computer networking
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Networking or Closely Related Field (i.e. it’s computer networking, but the name is slightly different)
Cybersecurity
Minimum: 18 graduate credit hours in cybersecurity (with no masters) OR master’s in computer related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in cybersecurity
Preferred: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or Closely Related Field (i.e. it’s cybersecurity, but the name is slightly different)
Logistics
Minimum: Master of Business Administration with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Supply Chain and Logistics OR a Master of Business Administration (general) with 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Logistics
Preferred: Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Supply Chain and Logistics (or same with a slightly different name)
Design and Media
Minimum: 18 graduate credit hours in Graphic Design (with no masters) OR Master’s in a Design related field (such as Marketing) with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Graphic Design
Preferred: Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design or closely related field (i.e. it’s graphic design but the name is slightly different)
Early Childhood Care and Education
Minimum: 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood Care and Education (without a masters) or a Master’s in Education or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood Care and Education.
Preferred: Master’s Degree and in Early Childhood Care and Education or closely related field (i.e. it’s ECCE, but the name is slightly different).

- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
