Summary
Essential Duties
- Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County’s curriculum in online and blended learning environments
- Plans, prepares, and implements instructional activities that engage students in meaningful and active learning experiences
- Demonstrates knowledge of effective online pedagogies Interacts with students in asynchronous and synchronous online activities along with Blended Learning face-to-face sessions
- Adapts to changing teaching demands driven by students’ needs
- Grades work and posts grades in a timely manner
- Communicates regularly to parents and students about academic progress
- Dedicates the appropriate amount of time daily to supporting students and providing positive, constructive and timely feedback
- Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment
- Participates in and contributes to the Fulton County virtual learning professional learning community
- Works independently with little direct supervision
- Demonstrates gains in student performance and achievement
- Maintains a professional environment conductive to learning at all times
- Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
- Demonstrates a flexible, adaptive, and responsive approach to the needs of FCS and the students, educators, school organizations, and communities that it serves
- Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in effective and timely manner, and demonstrates respect for others
- Conveys a positive and professional image to co-works, students and parents
- Engages in continual learning to deepen knowledge of current and emerging technologies
- Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
- Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program
- Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
- Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
- Performs other duties as assigned by administrator

Certification/Licensure
Experience Qualifications
0-1 year classroom experience required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Detailed knowledge and experience with standards-based instruction and assessment best practice
- Ability to travel to individual Fulton County schools/buildings for face to face trainings and student help sessions
- Knowledge and use of a rich array of instructional practices/strategies
- Knowledge of technologies available for use in a blended or virtual instructional setting
- Experience with curriculum development
- Demonstrated knowledge in differentiation and meeting the needs of varied adult learners
- Ability to work in collaborative teams
- Ability to think creatively and implement innovative ideas
- Ability to develop and use online resources to support instruction
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong instructional technology skills, including productivity software and web-based resources
- Must be able to determine scope of work necessary to complete self-directed projects and successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
Working Conditions
- Flexible work environment that will require some travel between FCS schools/buildings
- May work at alternate work site/telecommute when performing some duties
- Work schedule will be influenced by the needs of the students and must be flexible
Physical Demands
- Routine physical activity associated with normal office environment
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
- May have to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
- May require stooping or crouching
