Summary
The Assessment Operations Coordinator is responsible for planning and leading the District-wide administration of all state and national assessments in accordance with vendor and state policies and guidelines.
Essential Duties
- Leads the Assessment Operations department in the continuous improvement cycle for all department goals and key performance indicators
- Leads the Assessment Operations department in executing all state and national assessments in the District’s assessment strategy and annual testing calendar:
- Completes all mandatory Georgia Department of Education and vendor assessment trainings
- Creates and supervises project plans for the administration of each state and national assessment
- Creates and supervises processes for managing school testing irregularities and parent testing refusals
- Creates and supervises a process for monitoring school compliance to all state and national assessment processes and deadlines
- Manages all state and national assessment technologies
- Leads the technical setup, student roster upload, maintenance, and summer roll-over of state and national assessment technologies
- Supervises the Georgia Department of Education process for data coding (e.g. participation validation, student matching, non-participation, and enrollment counts)
- Responds to technical questions
- Troubleshoots platform issues
- Hires, supervises, and evaluates Program Specialist, Assessment Operations:
- Ensures employee compliance with District policies, processes, and practices
- Monitors and ensures effectiveness of employee projects and activities
- Ensures continuous improvement and performance management of employee knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Leads and/or participates in cross-departmental partnerships, committees, and working groups to align District-wide practices and processes to vendor and state expectations, ensure district-wide consistency in assessment administration, address stakeholder needs, and troubleshoot technical challenges
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
Master's Degree preferred
Certification/Licensure
Valid and clear teaching certificate required
Experience Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience required; Prior experience with assessment administration preferred; Experience working within a large, complex organization preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute district-wide processes or projects
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate, set-up, and maintain assessment technology services or systems
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously to meet short-term objectives and long-term goals
- Demonstrated ability to implement cycles of continuous improvement and develop innovative solutions that address challenges
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise employee performance
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including district/school administrators, teachers, and/or community members
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment
- Will require travel between schools
