Summary

The Coordinator for Operations Support provides leadership and coordination for continuous improvement initiatives within the division, utilizing quantitative, qualitative, and process improvement tools to support departments. The incumbent in this position creates value for our customers by coordinating and managing measurement and benchmarking activities ensuring industry best practices.  The Coordinator leads and provides program management oversight of cross functional strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties

  • Leads continuous improvement efforts that support Operations Division strategic goals including working with leaders to map and document key processes and use of quality tools to periodically assess and improve processes
  • Collaborates with department heads to plan and coordinate improvement projects and provides guidance and support to the team throughout the entire process improvement project to ensure customer-focused outcomes
  • Collaborates with division department heads serving as a thought partner on department strategic initiatives and assists with documenting our progress on these initiatives
  • Benchmarks Operations’ progress against stated goals and industry best practice; Maintains the Operations’ balanced scorecard and collaborates with Strategy and Innovation to integrate these data with the District balanced scorecard
  • Assists in the design and delivery of the Division’s strategic plans and performance management programs
  • Leads operations strategic initiative review process ensuring that key departmental efforts are executed with fidelity.
  • Leads and provides program management oversight of key cross-functional division initiatives as directed by the Deputy Superintendent of Operations
  • Assists in the development of departmental strategic plans and Division budgets ensuring alignment with school and customer priorities and the District’s strategic plan
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders outside of Operations; Supports and represents Deputy Superintendent of Operations at meetings, school site visits, learning community meetings, community meetings and other required meetings to develop and maintain strong customer relationship; Addresses any systemic customer service issues experienced in learning communities; Serves on committees to assist in the development of cross-functional policies and procedures, strategic planning, and initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
     

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Public Administration or related field or Equivalent experience (8 years - 2 years of similar work level experience = 1 year of college); A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Bachelors Degree requirement

Certification/Licensure

None required

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 6 years of experience working in business process improvement, systems engineering, and/or project management required; Experience in a similar role preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects and provide assistance to numerous and diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to apply analytical skills and technical know-how on several different scenarios
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with District and school personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to supervise and work effectively with departmental personnel
  • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
