Summary

The Student Information Support Services Coordinator coordinates and supervises the management and support of the District’s student information system and Student Information support components. The incumbent in this position serves as the team lead for Student Information Technical Support Specialist IIs; Manages the planning, implementation, data entry, data retrieval and assessment of support and end user aspects of data collection and reporting procedures to meet Federal, State, and local requirements.

Essential Duties

  • Monitors services desk configurations and set-up for compliance with SLA for student information team and collaborates with Service Desk team to develop analytics as needed
  • Serves as Team lead for communication of updates and new application functionality
  • Manages Student Information resources such as website, OneNote or similar type department and support modalities
  • Develops procedures and directs implementation of permanent student record/transcript preservation, distribution, and retrieval in accordance with Federal and State legislation and Board policy
  • Directs the implementation of and provides training for school-based administrators, counselors, instructional and clerical staff on use of student information systems applications; Supervises support staff who provide training and support for school data clerks
  • Supports communication between State Department of Education, local Board, school and other departments, parents, and community members for the purpose of providing requested student information
  • Develops and provides in-service activities and procedural manuals to administrators, teachers, and classified staff regarding reporting procedures for enrollment/attendance, FTE, student records, special education, and student information system applications
  • Revises and disseminates departmental procedures and serves as a resource for various planning committees
  • Develops efficient departmental operating procedures
  • Meets regularly with assigned staff to identify departmental needs and prioritize projects

Leadership and Management

  • Leads and supervises the student information support team ensuring team and individual performance levels meet customer needs and SLAs consistently
  • Participates with the leadership team of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) in strategic planning, operational and project improvement planning
  • Leads and manages the team, ensuring team and individual performance levels meet customer needs and SLAs consistently
  • Contributes to the success of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and assists in improving the overall customer experience within the assigned team continually
  • Participates and contributes to overall IT leadership team via collaboration, presentations and meetings
  • Ensures that the District and OIT mission and vision, strategy and business plan (and any updates) are communicated to and understood by all members of the assigned team
  • Ensures the team’s KPI’s/SMART goals are established and monitored, actions are taken and evaluated accordingly – delegating as appropriate
  • Conducts regular reviews of assigned staff and develops personal development plans, following capability processes where appropriate; Ensures continual development of the team and individuals occurs and that the highest potential is achieved
  • Reviews aspects/areas for improvement with own practice/processes, and those within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Ensures communication takes place both upwards and downwards across the assigned area of responsibility
  • Seeks support regarding personnel matters from the appropriate manager and/or Talent as needed and as appropriate
  • Acts as Liaison with Student Information and other FCS Departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field or In lieu of Degree will consider High School Diploma with equivalent experience defined as 2 yrs of similar work level experience =1 yr of college (4 yrs). Combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Degree requirement

Certification/Licensure

None required
ITIL Certification or similar preferred

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience and 3 additional years of experience with administration of student information systems required; experience supporting multiple schools and multiple student information systems preferred; Project Management or Business Analysis experience preferred
