Deputy Chief Information Officer

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the District’s CIO, the role of the Deputy Chief Information Officer assumes responsibility for implementing and continuously improving initiatives to achieve the long-range vision for the District strategic plan and the strategic plan of the Information Technology Division.  The Deputy CIO will oversee the integration of project management, strategy, governance, and program evaluation while aligning accountability, data utilization, and enterprise application functions with overall strategy.

Essential Duties

  • Leads collaborative teams to achieve District initiatives identified in the Strategic Plan and IT Divisional Strategic Plan
  • Works closely with personnel at every level to plan and implement strategies to support District governance, IT, accountability, evaluation, and enterprise application needs
  • Provides administrative leadership to the IT division and support to the CIO
  • Works closely with the Chief Information Officer and may be requested to provide division leadership in the CIO’s absence
  • Assists in communicating information regarding all IT initiatives and programs to the citizens of Fulton County
  • Creates clear channels for stakeholder feedback related to IT and district programs and initiatives
  • Reports to Cabinet and the Board of Education regularly
  • Develops and maintains the budgets for the various reporting departments
  • Develops the annual school year academic calendar
  • Provides supervision, evaluation, support, and leadership development for direct reports
  • Identifies and incorporates “best-in-class” strategies for utilizing data, information, and research to help guide instructional planning and improve school and district performance
  • Conducts periodic reviews and impact on student achievement and district operations and recommends modifications as appropriate
  • Leverages District data information resources and brokers staff expertise to identify, review, and recommend high-impact solutions that drive increased student achievement and efficient District operation
  • Provides supervisory leadership to ensure that projects and efforts reflect the goals and objectives of the District
  • Produces reports, analyses, and/or presentations as requested by the CIO/Superintendent
  • Reviews and recommends changes to policies, procedures, processes, and operating guidelines within assigned responsibilities
  • Develops professional learning materials for District and school staff as appropriate
  • Attends Board of Education meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the CIO and Superintendent

Required Education

Master's Degree or higher in Educational Leadership or A closely related field

Certification/Licensure

Six Sigma Green belt is desired

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in management and business administration with at least 2 years of experience in positions of leadership at local school and/or District level
