Executive Director, IT Services
Summary
The Executive Director of Information and Technology Services is responsible for effectively planning, implementing, and monitoring the District's communications and information processing systems. The incumbent provides strategic leadership to ensure robust and efficient technology support services are aligned with educational and administrative objectives.
Essential Duties
- Serves as an active member of the Information and Technology Division leadership team, contributing strategically to division planning, service delivery, and operations
- Develops, implements, evaluates, and updates the District technology plan in collaboration with district administrators, school principals, and technology coordinators
- Coordinates the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of district technology policies, procedures
- Leads cost-effective outsourcing strategies in support of district technology initiatives
- Oversees the Technology Support, Program Management, and Project Management Departments that support district administrative and management activities
- Ensures accurate and timely delivery of information to support informed decision-making at all district levels
- Serves as liaison with other divisions, engaging parents, external agencies, businesses, and community partners to foster understanding and support of district initiatives
- Recommends strategic changes to enhance technology services and increase operational efficiency
- Establishes and oversees procedures for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the District's technology plan
- Maintains open channels of communication with the Deputy CSTO and CSTO regarding emerging issues or significant events
- Assists in preparing and managing the IT Services departmental and annual technology budgets, optimizing resource allocation and productivity
- Establishes and oversees procedures for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the District's technology plan
- Establishes and maintains standardized policies for communication infrastructure use and maintenance
- Conducts annual performance appraisals, oversee professional growth opportunities, and manage personnel actions for assigned staff
- Prepares and ensure timely submission of required reports and maintain appropriate records
- Ensures compliance with all district, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations
- Maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing support and understanding of district technology initiatives
- Participates actively in professional development and training programs
- Stays abreast of industry developments and technological advancements
- Promotes and adhere strictly to safety procedures and district policies
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Deputy CSTO or appropriate administrator
Required Education
Certification/Licensure
Experience Qualifications
Minimum 6 years administration/supervisory experience and 6 additional years of related experience required; must include plus progressively responsible experience within the Information Technology or related field, Experience in an educational institution preferred, Demonstrated experience in managing comprehensive IT service operations
