Summary

The Principal is responsible for the instructional and organizational leadership of one of our K-12 schools. This role serves as the school's advocate and works with all stakeholders to create a common vision for the school that best positions the school for success and engages students and their community. The principal also works with others to develop and execute a school improvement plan and allocates resources to continually improve student achievement. The principal is also committed to building a talented team to create a safe, engaging learning environment. This position requires an experienced and committed school leader who is excited by the challenge of school leadership, innovative school design, and who has demonstrated success at dramatically improving school achievement.

  • Serves as school’s advocate and regularly communicates with all stakeholders
  • Manages diverse opinions, ideologies, and expertise to achieve school vision and objectives
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Administration or a related field

Certification/Licensure

Must hold or be eligible for a Tier II Georgia Leadership Certificate
Will also consider, if valid, a renewable Tier I Georgia Leadership Certificate
Must enroll in a program that leads to Tier II Georgia Leadership certification within one year of hire
Must complete a program that leads to Tier II Georgia Leadership certification within three years of hire

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience, demonstrating progression of added responsibility in Education, Educational Administration or a related field required; Minimum 3 years supervising others required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proven track record of ability to take leadership and meet established objectives to create positive outcomes in the school environment
  • Ability to organize programs, personnel, and activities required for productive learning in the school
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
  • Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively
  • Proven ability to make recommendations on various topics, detailed, controversial, simple, or complex
  • Ability to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate program goals and initiatives
  • Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
