Summary

The Senior Web Developer will develop, deliver and support new and enhanced solutions to deliver effective and efficient improvements to District operations and / or instruction. The position works as a leader on the Enterprise Applications team providing guidance, task assignments, design and delivery of innovative portal based solutions for various internal and external customers.

Essential Duties

  • Coordinates team assigned activities and assigns tasks to individuals
  • Provides design of features and functions
  • Establishes development and deployment standards;
  • Provides coaching and guidance on development best practices to other developers
  • Defines development and release processes
  • Develops, designs, implements and maintains web applications and/or processes
  • Recommends and evaluates software, hardware and processes to the team and end-users that enhance the delivery of web based solutions
  • Assists with the development of the technical architecture for web solutions including hardware, software, scripting, database design and user interface design recommendations
  • Supports new and ongoing web and ERP projects Analyzes, clarifies and documents customer and stakeholder needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Collaborates with network, operations, and internal staff to plan, design, develop, and implement web development, enhancements, and maintenance projects; Collaborates with network security team to ensure adequate security.
  • Collaborates with external vendors
  • Creates and maintains all related systems documentation
  • Performs full life-cycle development and support
  • Serve as development expert to expand and guide the District development platform, tools and resources S
  • upports various site owners (including school technology specialist), trainer and administrator in the maintenance and use of the web platform
  • Participates in hardware/software evaluation and planning
  • Participate as part of project teams, as deemed necessary, to incorporate new and existing technology into the over-arching enterprise applications landscape
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or Equivalent experience (2 years of similar work level experience = 1 year of college)

Certification/Licensure

None required

Experience Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience as a web or ERP developer required ; 5+ years SQL development experience; 5+ yrs SQL database experience; Experience delivering highly complex/ high availability solutions

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Familiarity with various web and ERP development tools and platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of web development framework (.NET, Visual Studio, HTML5, CSS(3), AJAX, C#, XML, scripting (Java/Perl)
  • Ability to translate end user requests into technical requirements
  • Ability to engage and provide a high degree of customer satisfaction
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues and create the most efficient solutions
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
