Summary

Plans, conducts, and assists in financial, performance, and compliance audits of schools and administrative offices to determine adherence to established financial policies and procedures; Provides constructive analysis and appraisal of financial and operational policies, procedures, and systems of internal control

Essential Duties

  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts a variety of assurance and compliance audits
  • Assesses potential risks within operations, processes, and functions
  • Documents and prioritizes audit findings; compiles and organizes working papers in accordance with audit standards and guidelines; prepares clear, concise, and conclusive audit reports
  • Provides leadership and technical assistance to site administrators and teachers
  • Prioritizes and organizes multiple work projects
  • Supports the maintenance of a team environment through exchange of ideas, knowledge sharing, and open communication
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Certification/Licensure

Valid Georgia Driver License required
Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Fraud Examiner preferred

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting/auditing related position required; Experience with public school district or non-profit accounting/auditing preferred

  • Strong accounting and auditing skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Knowledge of school business functions (Purchasing, Accounting, Auditing)
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
