Summary

The Environmental Services Training Specialist is responsible for developing and providing trainings for FCS custodial staff in the effective cleaning methods for a School/Facility Environment.

Essential Duties

  • Develops and implements trainings for FCS custodial staff members
  • Manages the Environmental Service Custodial Floater Program and floater placements
  • Assists schools/facilities in need of custodial staffing support
  • Helps maintain an up-to-date Environmental Services Operation Manual
  • Assists the Coordinator of Environmental Services with the development and implementation of individual and group training sessions in all facets of equipment, chemical uses, and procedures related to custodial duties
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date guidelines for general cleaning duties
  • Maintains accurate records of training at each location
  • Assists Environmental Technicians with assessing needs and advises schools of techniques to improve cleanliness
  • Plans and delivers training courses to augment other provided training
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest developments in the cleaning industry and determines feasibility for inclusion in the custodial program
  • Serves as an additional resource for custodial cleaning procedures/techniques
  • Works cooperatively with the Environmental Technicians
  • Works cooperatively with Talent Division recruiter and staffing directors
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Certification/Licensure

None required

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of related custodial training experience required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to train employees in all facets of equipment, chemical uses, and procedures related to custodial duties
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and appropriate use of supplies and equipment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in program planning and delivery
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Normal office environment
  • May be exposed to weather including heat, cold, dampness, and/or humidity

Physical Demands

  • Routine physical activity associated with normal office environment
  • Routine physical activities with running hands-on trainings from floor work to restroom, office and classroom cleaning
