Support Specialist, Title I

Summary

Performs duties related to field-based leadership in assisting schools and the District with Title I plans, budgets, programs, and compliance by providing technical assistance and training

Essential Duties

  • Plans and delivers professional learning to school-based staff on Title I programs and requirements 
  • Provides technical assistance to school-based staff on Title I plans, budgets, and compliance documentation 
  • Reviews and approves purchases to ensure Title I compliance
  • Maintains documentation as required by federal and state law and board policy
  • Works in collaboration with other departments to:
  • Develop curriculum workshops to align with Fulton County curriculum and federal and state compliance requirements
  • Plan and support various Federal Programs, District developed events
  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Coordinator of Federal Programs

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree
Master's Degree preferred

Certification/Licensure

Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate required;
Leadership Certification preferred
Must be willing to acquire additional training as directed by manager

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal grant regulations and compliance guidelines preferred
  • Must have professional knowledge and proven use of effective teaching strategies
  • Strong desire to work with high poverty schools
  • High technological skill level required with experience with Shared Documents, Excel, Microsoft Office, Infinite Campus, SAP
  • Proficiency in website management
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work with personal and confidential information
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with District and school personnel, parents, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
