Summary

Coordinates the TAG Career Internship opportunities for students enrolled in the TAG Internship Program to include student qualifications and readiness, community marketing of the program with local businesses, and student placement and supervision

Essential Duties

  • Assesses students’ qualifications and career interests, the students’ interview performance at both the Pre-Internship Interview and Initial Placement Meeting
  • Determines placement for interns enrolled in the program
  • Assesses the quality of new internship sites and Site Supervisors
  • Develops and implements the marketing program and oversees the development of new internship sites
  • Initiates and responds to any communication with Internship Site Supervisors
  • Participates in the Initial Placement Meeting of gifted interns
  • Assists with instructing Hire Me! Classes (Pre-Requisite to TAG Internship Program Enrollment)
  • Composes and distributes Intern evaluations
  • Attends Intern Final Presentations Determines appropriate intervention with problematic internship situations
  • Collaborates with fellow Gifted Career Internship Advisors (Sharing Sites, etc.)
  • Becomes knowledgeable of and implements site specific protocol when placing a student at an Internship Site
  • Provides curriculum development for Hire Me! Class and Gifted Internship Manual
  • Administers and monitors the logistics of each role concerning Internship Class Protocol and Procedures (Roles include: Intern, Gifted Internship Teachers, Site Supervisors, Hire Me Teachers, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Master’s Degree

Certification/Licensure

Must hold a valid Georgia Teaching (T-5) Certificate and endorsement for teaching in Gifted Education

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching in a Gifted Program required, preferably teaching experience in the Gifted Internship Program and/or Hire Me Class

  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Willing to work an atypical schedule when needed
  • Excellent Computer and Data Skills

Working Conditions

  • Atypical work environment based on needs of the program (shared time between schools, internship sites , and car)

Physical Demands

  • Must have a high level of sustained physical mobility to transition between different work environments
