Summary

The Technical Support Specialist III, Information Security position is responsible for configuration, support and troubleshooting of the District Active Directory and Azure AD environments using Microsoft’s Lifecycle Management tools to automate the creation of user identities, inter-directory provisioning, group assignments and maintenance as user status or roles change.  The incumbent in this position performs Cyber Security monitoring and data analysis to ensure the integrity, reliability and security of data, systems, and networks.

Essential Duties

  • Performs user and group management functions using Microsoft’s Identity Management (MIM) Lifecycle tools to create secure groups, modify account expirations, database queries, daily monitoring of account imports & synchronization
  • Performs MIM management agent updates, portal resources and extension code for enhancements 
  • Ensures compatibility of Active Directory level configurations with Fulton County Board of Education standards and the System Level Technology Strategic Plan
  • Develops reports to share with administrators about the efficiency of security policies and change recommendations
  • Assists with monitoring daily threats and security logs for unusual events that could pose potential threats to the district’s enterprise networks or systems
  • Assists with implementing security projects and network security required to maintain a high degree of security measures on all systems and networks
  • Manages IT Security daily support tickets, incidents, documentation processes, automation, and participates in IT Security projects
  • Consults with District staff to evaluate and recommend technical enhancements
  • Assists with supporting the infrastructure during emergency situations, after-hours maintenance of Technology resources when scheduled and response to security incident support as needed or defined by service requests 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Associate's Degree in A related field or equivalent experience (In lieu of degree, will consider 2 years of related technology experience per year of college (4 years)

Certification/Licensure

Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator or Associate preferred

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of related experience including at least 3 years of experience supporting current versions of Microsoft Windows, Azure AD Identity Management, Microsoft Office, and latest technologies required; Experience with user management, change control, documentation, and automations required; Experience in an educational organization is preferredcrosoft Windows, Azure AD Identity Management, Microsoft Office, and latest technologies required; Experience with user management, change control, documentation, and automations required; Experience in an educational organization is preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must have experience working with Active Directory User’s and Groups, Microsoft’s Identity Management, User provisioning, Active Directory Group Policy Mgmt., Active Directory Object Management, Password Management.
  • Experience working with scripting languages and synchronization types (SQL queries, C-Sharp programming, PowerShell, XML), attribute flow precedence and AADConnect
  • A solid understanding on how to implement and manage an Azure/AD hybrid identity solution in a large Active Directory enterprise directory
  • Manage and prioritize tasks, problems, change, and projects
  • Solid analytical and problem resolution skills with a wide variety of computer hardware and software issues
  • A good understanding and broad knowledge of computer technology and networking architectures
  • Ability to respond promptly to assigned tasks, support requests and incidents, phone calls, and emails
  • Ability to provide on-site, phone, and remote support and be creative and think outside the box to deliver services
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently and in team environments to meet goals and deadlines
